I’m definitely in with the 57%! The 57% of people polled in a USA Today/Gallup poll that feels the $787 billion dollar turd laid by the Obama Administration has done nothing for the economy or made it worse. While most economists agree that the recession would have been worse without it, just who is benefiting? My $13.00 did’nt even make it to my wallet. Thank you California.

Americans still are not spending like our economy depends on them to do. Without consumer spending, gains in corporate earnings will suffer. Most gains were made through deep cuts (we’ve all seen it), not the result of everyone running out to buy whatever the company you work for is selling. Unless of course you are Toyota. Thanks to the Cash for Clunkers horn of plenty, foreign car makers are seeing great increases in sales. For the dealerships, however, the horn is a horn of empty since they are having very little success getting paid. Do you think this “gap” has any impact on spending? Great PR to say they’ve already expended $1 billion dollars for the program and authorized two more. It probably would be a little better if they could actually say they’ve paid it out. Ooops! Too bad I was right when I said this would benefit foreign car makers and leave US auto manufacturers farther in the dust.

The people I know are all working more hours, being given more responsibility and getting less in return for their efforts. Euphemisms have taken the place of dialogue. “We should all be happy we have a job” because “it’s a new way of doing business.”

We are happy we have jobs, but we aren’t happy that it comes at the expense of those closest to us. It is a new way of doing business, unfortunately the model is flawed.

When I first started this site, I applied for a trademark on my logo. It’s original, it’s creative, it’s something that I want to protect, and, according to the “Trademark Examining Attorney” for the US Government, it’s disparaging to the US Congress. Boo hoo!!

Disparaging is such a dramatic sounding word isn’t it? I can hear everyone in the House now, “Why, that man is disparaging us. Help us Nancy, it’s enough to give us the vapors.” It insinuates that my characterization somehow diminishes the aura of the Unites States Congress. Please! I think they do a fine enough job of that by themselves. Even with all of the scrutiny that now falls on them, they still find ways to pull little stunts like attaching new jets for themselves to incongruous spending bills. They all must have a pretty bad taste in their mouth since they keep stepping in crap and then inserting their feet in their mouths afterwards. Is this disparaging or the truth?

Our government has formed such a massive pile of dung around themselves, that even the President of these United States had said that he wanted to clean up the excessive waste that flows around Washington (that is before he decided it was a lot more fun to spend money than to save it). Every time anyone in Congress proposes opening up the national wallet and throwing money away, Representatives start buzzing around to see what they can get, like, well, flies circling a fresh pile; all the while ignoring the calls for restraint made by their constituents. Is this disparaging or a representation of what goes on in DC? Frankly, both parties have done little to make a case that my logo is anything but correct. Either way, it sure seems pretty accurate.

Actually, the more I think about it, Congress, specifically, the Speaker of the House, has disparaged me. Am I un-American for expressing my view just because it fails to follow her agenda? Am I not entitled to protect that which I create? The greatest institution in America are us, its citizens, and our government has worked very hard lately at belittling, marginalizing and downright ignoring us. While nobody likes being called a big piece of crap (even if they are), if it smells like it, it probably is. The air of political correctness is thinning and louts, blowhards and gasbags all need to get used to being called out as to what they are. When you ignore us, you inspire us. All this pompous, righteous indignation does nothing but portray Congress as self centered, narcissistic and petty. They bring all the contempt down on themselves.

I think I’ll be fighting this little decision.

Thank god it’s time for recess! With all of the brainless legislating going on during their current nappy time session, it’s about time Congress got out onto the playground of real life and found out what happens to bullies.

All year we’ve had to listen to these reckless bags of fertilizer tell us we need to give them our lunch money so they can solve all of the nations woes. So far the woes still seem to be hanging around.

Maybe what the Washington whack jobs need is a little detention. If they all had to write “I will not deficit spend” 1000 times on a blackboard in front of their constituents, maybe they’d get the idea.

We don’t want to pay for your extravagant notions of what you think America should be. We want to pay for our own dreams and those of our kids. Everyone is responsible for making their own dreams come true. Americans don’t need to fabricate any outrage over being treated like an ATM.

Oh, by the way, try pulling out the job numbers as some sort of magic indicator of how well everything is going. One month of decline during the busy summer season is not what you would call a stellar turn around.

Let’s get something straight right off the bat. Once the government has our taxes, it has ceased to be our money. Everywhere I turn, I hear outrage at how our tax dollars are being spent. I hear people asking when we will get our money back from the likes of AIG, GM, Chrysler and everyone else who got in line for the government crapola train. Why do we continue to refer to ourselves as being part of some giant group of investors who have gone into business together to make money? We really had no choice.

Let’s look at what a tax is. A tax is “a charge, usually of money imposed by authority on persons or property for public purposes”. This certainly doesn’t sound like a great chance for me to get in on the ground floor of the next big thing. This is money that has been collected by an authority, our government, be it Federal, State or Local. As an authority, they will use that money as they see fit. More often than not, it means it will be used in a manner that benefits them personally first and us, the public, somehow, somewhere down the road. The only investing being done with tax dollars is by politicians on their own job security. If I am an investor, shouldn’t I be able to choose what I am backing? If all of these companies that were bailed out are such sure fire winners, why wouldn’t any greedy mega-corporations gobble up the opportunity first?

We will never see “our” tax dollars because they don’t exist. As it is we will probably see less and less of what should be our money, the stuff that is in our wallet, due to higher taxes masquerading as social or environmental reform and whatever other cause can be manipulated to fill the coffers. As long as Ecobomics are in play, the wants of the few will continue to be portrayed as the needs of the many.

If they’re lucky, the government will perhaps get some of their tax dollars (bailout and stinkulus money) back. I’m not holding my breath for any dividend check to magically come my way in the mail though. I have no illusions about the taxes I pay. The ROI I see from all of this spending makes me want to say BFD. I am not getting any money back and the euphemism is getting old.

As the Labor Department and liberal media made big whoop-dee-doo over the lower jobless claims this week, BO found himself losing some of the gleam of his invincibility suit. Perhaps the falling approval ratings in Ohio signal an awakening. While the administration continues to manipulate statistics on unemployment and economic growth, it seems that people are opening their eyes to the fact that all their rhetoric can’t change one simple fact. All of the spending that is going on is doing nothing except piss everyone off.

Continuing claims continue to rise. Everyone needs to remember that it is summer, and many of the jobs that are being opened up are part time and seasonal. Those people will find themselves looking for work on September 8th. Another diversion from the truth hides the growing number of people not included because their claims have run out. Are you only considered unemployed if you get a check from the government?

This Back on Track program in San Francisco and all the hoopla surrounding it all of a sudden has me thinking “whose job is it anyway” on a number of levels.

Kamala Harris has said that it is not the duty of local law enforcement to enforce federal immigration law. Not my job! Whose job is it anyway?

California jobs are disappearing faster than a fart in the wind, but this program prepared people who have no right to work in the US to take jobs from citizens. Which knuckleheads never saw the potential for this happening when the program was conceived? Whose job is it anyway?

Kamala Harris wants to be Attorney general and make California a sanctuary state. Only if we let her. Whose job is it anyway?

In the real world, the phrase “not my job” goes over about as well as a fart in church. In government it seems to be the standard response. It shows the union mentality of the workers and of the officials who are beholden to those unions. Whose job is it anyway?

Government has created a welfare system where we actually say there are jobs that “Americans don’t want to do”. It is easier and more lucrative for someone to sit at home and collect benefits than go out and do an actual job. This is America and regardless of the work, it is a means to take care of your own. Whose job is it anyway?

Now we’re on the verge of expanding those benefits at the expense of hard working people across the country. Everyone who is working will pay for those who won’t do whatever it takes to support themselves. Whose job is it anyway?

If we’re not getting the results we expect from our elected officials we can change them. Whose job is it anyway?

Kiss your $8.00 tax break goodbye; and then some. Republicans and Democrats agree, the new energy and climate bill passed by the house will raise the rates you pay for utilities and gas. It’s a thinly veiled way to raise taxes without using the “T” word.

Caps on emissions? OK, I get it. Allowances for polluters? No, I don’t get it. What’s the point of a cap if you can get around it? Where do these allowances that will be given away come from? Who’s going to oversee these allowances? If I pledge to stop eating spicy food, can I sell my carbon offset to the soon to be appointed fart czar? I could use the money to pay for the goods I buy that are still made in the USA or maybe my electric bill.

Why do I have to subsidize anybody’s energy consumption? I guess if I do, I will eventually fall into some low income category and wind up paying for myself. The laws of Ecobomics at work again

I finally understand green technology. It’s anything that sucks the green out of my wallet and puts it into someone else’s hands.
