Crap and Raid

Kiss your $8.00 tax break goodbye; and then some.  Republicans and Democrats agree, the new energy and climate bill passed by the house will raise the rates you pay for utilities and gas.  It’s a thinly veiled way to raise taxes without using the “T” word.

Caps on emissions?  OK, I get it.  Allowances for polluters?  No, I don’t get it.  What’s the point of a cap if you can get around it?  Where do these allowances that will be given away come from?  Who’s going to oversee these allowances?  If I pledge to stop eating spicy food, can I sell my carbon offset to the soon to be appointed fart czar?  I could use the money to pay for the goods I buy that are still made in the USA or maybe my electric bill.

Why do I have to subsidize anybody’s energy consumption?  I guess if I do, I will eventually fall into some low income category and wind up paying for myself.  The laws of Ecobomics at work again

I finally understand green technology.  It’s anything that sucks the green out of my wallet and puts it into someone else’s hands.
